Since the early 1980s, Thomas Lindahl has composed music for theatre, film and television. At the Royal Swedish Opera, "My mother is a dragon" has been recorded for TV and "Karlsson on the Roof" has also been performed on the Main Stage and the comic opera "Not all thieves come to steal", which is based on a play by Dario Fo. He has been house composer at the Gothenburg Opera where he wrote "My mother is a dragon", and has composed several different smaller music-dramatic works for Malmö Opera Verkstad.
In 2016, "Twilight Song's" was premiered with Angelika Kirchschlager (mezzo), Håkan Hardenberger (trpt/cond) with lyrics by Mary /Percy Bysshe Shelley and Västerås Sinfonietta.
For Hardenberger and the Stockholm Water Festival he has also composed a concertino for trumpet and orchestra,

Later works include "Mina drömmars okända stationer" with lyrics by Eeva Kilpi performed by Linnea Andreassen / Stockholm Saxophone Quartet and "I Paradisets Skugga" with lyrics by Jacques Werup, on stage with Mimi Terris, Harald Leander and Vindla String Quartet at the Palladium in Malmö in May 2022. And now a solo piece, Nattuggla, for soprano saxophone for the fine saxophonist Anders Paulsson.
